Wisdom Talley

Returning Awardee Wisdom Talley, expected class of 2024, is from Elon, North Carolina. She is studying Nursing at Howard University, where she has maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA. In the summer of 2022, Wisdom conducted brain research at the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center through the Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Summer Program in collaboration with the Williams-Franklin Foundation. Wisdom received the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) Golden Cupola Award for her outstanding academic and leadership achievements. Wisdom attended the NCSSM Summer Leadership and Research Program where she worked with bacteria, and the Wake Forest Medical Camp. On campus, she is a Resident Assistant, Student Ambassador, and member of the Howard University Water and Environment Association. Upon graduating from Howard University, Wisdom plans to become a Neonatal Nurse practitioner to increase representation in the medical field and decrease alarming Black maternal death rates.
