LaShelle Franklin

LaShelle Franklin is an accomplished attorney with business operational and legal experience. She is a proud graduate of Howard University. Throughout her career, she has worked in both the government and private industry in Maryland and D.C.  Her career started in the D.C. Superior Court as a Law Clerk for the Presiding Judge of Family Court.  In her role, she wrote briefs and drafted legal opinions for an array of cases spanning from divorce and child custody to juvenile and abuse cases. Mrs. Franklin was then recruited into private practice where she litigated high profile and highly contested cases involving family related issues. This is where she exhibited her strong writing and contract negotiations skills. Next, Mrs. Franklin served as Legislative Council to a D.C. city-wide Councilmember and worked on legislative and policy issues that impact the residents of D.C.

In her current position as Chief Operations Officer and General Counsel at Professional Management Consulting Services, LLC, she supports the President/CEO with developing strategies related to business development, operational direction and personnel issues. She manages operational staff in day-to-day affairs to reach long-term business goals. Mrs. Franklin streamlined internal processes to increase business efficiency by reducing time and cost in accomplishing tasks.

In her role as General Counsel she is responsible for preparing, reviewing and negotiating business contracts involving employees, consultants, corporations and temporary staff. She also represents the company in all court ordered matters related to contract issues and employment matters.

Mrs. Franklin is a member of the Maryland and D.C. Bar and holds a certificate in Law and Public Policy. She has a strong passion for using her talents to help those in need and when time permits, provides pro bono legal services to unrepresented individuals and volunteers with a variety of non-profit organizations that serve the homeless, elderly, abused and battered women and children. Mrs. Franklin also chairs the D.C. Child Support Guidelines Commission.

Mrs. Franklin is also involved in civic and social organizations such as, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., The Links, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
