Fredric Walls

Fredric Walls is a Managing Director and Team Lead in the Washington, DC office of J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Fred leads a group of professionals and specialists who offer comprehensive and sophisticated wealth management strategies that help clients pursue their meaningful goals.

Fred understands that when families engage with the Private Bank, they seek best-in-class practices for the many challenges of their wealth. He and his team deliver a financial framework that embraces the personalized needs of each client—lifestyle considerations, estate strategies, philanthropic intent and more. Fred fosters a culture of inclusion that enhances the relationship between clients and team members. He finds it personally rewarding to blend his quantitative capabilities with a collaborative approach to serve as a trusted resource.

Before joining J.P. Morgan, Fred was a Managing Director of Institutional Investments at SunTrust Bank. In this senior position, he invested endowment and reserve funds on behalf of mission-driven organizations. Previously, Fred served as the Washington, DC Market Director with PNC Asset Management, and held prior roles with Prudential Financial and Smith Barney. He began his 30+ year career as an actuarial research analyst.

Fred received an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Howard University. Raised in a family that values service to community, Fred regularly holds leadership positions with nonprofit organizations. He most recently served on the Advisory Board for the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Formerly, Fred served on boards including the American Bankers Association Trust School Board, the Sibley Hospital Memorial Foundation, National Park Trust, the Alice Ferguson Foundation, the DC Police Foundation, the Levine School, Lowell School and Imagination Stage Inc. Within the firm, Fred is involved with J.P. Morgan’s Advancing Black Pathways and is a member of The Black Executive Forum, two programs that help chart more robust paths toward economic success within the Black community, both externally and internally. He is also a mentor with the Rising Black Talent Program and is part of the Private Bank’s leadership team for the Black Wealth Initiative.

Originally from Northern New Jersey, Fred and his family live in Washington, DC. They have been in the area for many years, and enjoy taking advantage of the diverse food, arts and culture the region has to offer.
