Returning Awardee Serina McMillian, expected class of 2023, is from Sacramento, California. Serina is studying Psychology at Howard University. Serina serves as a Teaching Assistant in local preschool classrooms with Ameri-Corps Jumpstart in Washington, D.C. Additionally, she is a Site-Coordinator for Howard University’s Alternative Spring Break and Day of Service. For these programs, Serina researches and recruits potential organizations available for students to participate in community service events. She is passionate about serving the Washington, D.C. community. Upon graduation, Serina will attend graduate school and found an organization that provides resources and services to end the cycle of poverty.
