Nya Love

Returning Awardee Nya Love, expected class of 2024, is from Little Rock, Arkansas. Nya is a Biology student at Dillard University. In the summer of 2023, Nya participated in The Leadership Alliance SR-EIP program with Brown University. In this research program, she explored the effects of vimentin and Doxycycline on the tumor microenvironment of breast cancer cells. As School of Population and Health Sciences Research Assistant, she was able to put her analytical and organizational skills of medical research to use. This summer, she also studied for the MCAT exam in the fall. Upon graduation, Nya plans to become a Pediatrician to serve marginalized communities, reduce health disparities, and raise awareness about the importance of preventative care.
