Miranda Merritt

Miranda Merritt, expected class of 2021, is from Alexandria, Virginia and will graduate from Spelman College, the number one ranked Historically Black College and University. At Spelman College, Miranda is double majoring in biomedical engineering and Chemistry. During her matriculation at Spelman College, she has focused her service efforts on helping communities of color through volunteering with the NAACP and Bonner Scholars. She is also in the process of creating a mentorship program, the Lean on Me Initiative, to target incoming freshmen and rising sophomores at Spelman College. After graduating from Spelman College, Miranda plans to earn her master’s degree in science while pursuing a career in pediatric engineering and creating a children foundation for low-income families.
