Laten Jordan

Returning Awardee Laten Jordan, class of 2023, is from Columbus, Ohio. He is studying Honors Political Science (Pre-Law) at Howard University, where he has maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA. This past summer, Laten was at Policy Intern at the American Civil Liberties Union, where he assisted with campaign and policy research on LGBTQ+ justice, women’s/gender rights, and disability rights. Laten worked on Candace Valenzuela’s 2020 Congressional campaign and as a Legislative Intern in the office of U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-0H). On campus, Laten serves as the Chief of Staff of the Howard University Student Association and Vice President of External Affairs for the Coalition of Activist Students Celebrating the Acceptance of Diversity and Equality (CASCADE). He is also an award-winning witness on the Howard University Mock Trial Team. Upon graduation, Laten will attend law school to become an attorney and professor of law.
