Kyla Mayo

Kyla Mayo, expected class of 2024, is from Vacherie, Louisiana. Kyla is studying Biology (Pre-Med) at Dillard University, where she has maintained a 4.0 GPA. This summer, Kyla attended the Summer Research Early Identification Program at Brown University and worked alongside professors of Neuroscience and Human Behavior and Psychiatry. At Dillard, she is a member of the Emerging Scholars Program for which she completes leadership development and research training. Kyla is a Presidential Ambassador within the President’s Organization of Dillard’s Up-and-Coming Superstars (PODUS) for which she serves the community as an ambassador for special events. Additionally, Kyla is a Melton Foundation Fellow training in cross-cultural communication, design thinking, and project planning. Upon graduating, Kyla plans to become a psychiatrist.
