Jordan Alexander

Returning awardee Jordan Alexander, expected class of 2024, is from Detroit, Michigan. Jordan is studying Nutritional Science at Howard University. In the summer of 2023, Jordan participated in a paid research internship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. He was assigned to research the disease pathology in the large intestine of mice. He applied for this internship through the Williams-Franklin Foundation and was very excited to get started!! He also spoke as a panelist for a virtual LinkedIn workshop to an audience of Columbia University student-interns and served as a volunteer in the United Planning Organization where he inspires low-income residents in Washington D.C on their journey to self-sufficiency and success! At Howard University, Jordan serves on two clubs: Secretary of the Nutrition Club where he provides administrative support to the chairperson and VP and he is a member of the National Nutrition Month Committee that was created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics aimed at encouraging people to make informed food choices and develop healthy habits. Upon graduation, Jordan plans to attend medical school and open a family medicine practice in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan.
