Janiya Brooks
Janiya Brooks, expected class of 2023, is originally from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Janiya is studying Biology at Howard University. Janiya has also been recognized as Prince George’s County Public Schools Scholar of the Week and was captain of her high school’s volleyball team. She has been a student intern in the Department of Physiology and BioPhysics since September 2018. At Howard, Janiya is a participant in the SEA-PHAGES program. She has served as a Biological Science Aid at the United States National Arboretum. Upon graduation, Janiya will attend medical school to become a pediatric cardiologist and open her own practice in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
